About Flatiron, NoMad and Union Square: the back story

Around Madison Square Park, the Flatiron District and NoMad have some of the city’s best restaurants, with Union Square and its Greenmarket to the south.

Madison Square

Madison Square Park, opened in 1847, faces the Flatiron Building, with Eataly and Eleven Madison Park on its edges.

Eat

Gramercy Tavern, Cote, Atomix and Casa Mono are a short walk away, and Breads Bakery is by Union Square.

Eleven Madison Park looks over the park where the Flatiron Building points north.

Union Square

Union Square has the Greenmarket, Whole Foods and the Strand bookshop nearby.

Our advice: lunch at Eataly, then walk to Union Square.
